Now we are going to set up the classified ads. There
is no documentation for this, but I am assured that
it is simple. Well, let's just see about that, shall
we?
Log in to your Admin center. In the left hand column
click Classifieds. In the Classifieds Admin Menu, you'll
see links to Help. They don't work (at least mine don't).
So, let's do this the old fashioned way - we'll poke
everything and see what we can break.
First, I'm going to define some categories. It would
be smart to have your categories defined in a Notepad
document before you get started. Prepare them one to
a line, then you can paste them right into the category

Now, click the Classifieds link again, then Edit Ad
Layout. There's not too much that needs to be done
here. You can probably leave it alone. I personally
don't like borders on tables, so I set the border to

you'd like.
OK, just one more thing to do. Click the link to get
back to the Classifieds Administration menu again. Once
there, click Edit Template. You can do anything you
like with the template - banners, searchboxes, plugins,
you name it. The only thing you need to do to make
sure that the PLUGIN:BODY is placed where you want
the classifieds to show up.
To link to your classifieds:

That's it! Now you've got free classifieds to offer
your community. If you're smart about setting up
the categories to match your site's topic, they should
help you build traffic to your portal.
Take a look at the PortalHelp Classifieds.
Note: The classifieds program is NOT sending out email. You
should add a note to your template page telling people
to include a mailto: link in the text of their ad.
